Sorry, Andrew Garfield fans, but Amazing Spider-Man Actor to no longer appear in Guillermo del Toro’s film frankenstein Movie.
While Garfield was originally set to play Frankenstein’s monster, Deadline recently reported that Priscilla star Jacob Elordi will replace him with Netflix confirmed after one day. Apparently, Garfield had to leave the project due to scheduling conflicts due to the strike delay, but as a reminder, we support the strike here! I’d also like to see Garfield become an iconic horror monster, but after his time in the controversial Saltburn, we’ll have to settle for the hunk the internet currently loves.

Deadline also shared that Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, Alita: Battle Angel), Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front), Lars Mikkelsen (The Witcher “), David Bradley (Pinocchio) and Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth,” “One Piece”) have signed up to join the cast. They join Oscar Isaac (“Into the Spider-Verse”) and Mia Goss (“Pearl”), who will play the titular Victor Frankenstein.
Little is known about del Toro’s take on Frankenstein, but he’s clearly no stranger to monster movies, having worked on the likes of Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth and The Shape of Water. His last film won him the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2017. He will write, direct and produce the project alongside J. Miles Dale, who served as a producer on Del Toro’s other Netflix project, Cabinet of Curiosity. It’s apparently based on Mary Shelley’s classic novel, but whether he’ll opt for a period piece or contemporary setting is up in the air.
Elordi has been quickly thrust into the spotlight as of late, remaining a regular on HBO’s Euphoria and most recently playing the King himself, Elvis Presley, in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, as well as Emer One of the main characters in Lard Fennell’s Saltburn.
