Hades 2 It proved to be an instant hit, and it clearly generated interest in the original, as 2020’s Roguelite also received a strong push on Steam.
Last week, Supergiant decided to surprise us with an early access to Hades 2 , so obviously we all immediately dropped whatever game we were playing and jumped right in. The sequel quickly climbed onto Steam’s best-seller list upon its release, and if your timeline is anything like mine, it has quickly taken over every hungry person under the sun. The most impressive thing is that, very similar to the first game, “Hades 2” has just entered the early access stage, but its peak number of simultaneous online users has reached more than twice the original game’s historical peak at the time of release. Has over 100,000 players. However, it’s clear people are expecting more than just what the sequel has to offer, as the first Hades also saw a significant increase in player numbers over the weekend.

The game’s previous concurrent user record was 37,749, setting a new record when it was released in 2020. Over the weekend, though, the game managed to climb to a new record of 54,240 players, so there’s obviously going to be some comebacks and comebacks. Presumably new players will come back because of the popularity of the sequel. I can’t entirely blame them, Hades is indeed a brilliant piece of design and has a captivating enough story to keep you moving forward during those occasionally brutal runs.
Of course, you might be wondering whether Hades 2 is worth early access now that it’s out, and luckily, we’ve got the answer to that question (spoiler alert: you probably should). If you do want to play the first Hades again or for the first time, it’s very easy to download via Netflix for iOS, so there’s no reason not to play it if you have an account.
