One of the bigger appearances expected from The Game Awards 2019 was certainly Half-Life: Alyx. In the end, however, the VR shooter hope could not be seen for a very short time.

There were certainly enough new announcements and world premieres from The Game Awards 2019, but a title that many gamers have been waiting for was not in sight at short notice: Half-Life: Alyx from Valve Software. The makers apparently called off the appearance at the awards ceremony at the last minute.
Contrary to the previous announcement by moderator Geoff Keighley, Half-Life: Alyx was missing the last track at the Game Awards. Only a few hours before the event started, Valve had via Twitter "I am sorry to say that Half-Life: Alyx will not be shown at The Game Awards tonight. The team is working hard on the game and we look forward to seeing you more next year show as we get closer to the March release, "it said over the short message service.
However, the news does not explain why the previously announced appearance was canceled at such short notice. Valve insider Tyler McVicker dated Valve News Network YouTube wants to shed some light on the dark. According to him, the recent release of the VR title Boneworks is responsible for the shift. The title has taken the VR world by storm and has some of the most impressive physics systems to see in the virtual reality world.
The current version of Half-Life: Alyx scheduled for the Game Awards is still limited in terms of features and would therefore have looked a bit old compared to Boneworks. Until the release in March 2020, the new shooter from Valve should relate and catch up in this regard. In any case, according to the insider, Valve was not sure whether the planned presentation would meet the quality requirements and the expectations of the VR fans in this form.
