The VR shooter Half-Life: Alyx will be available in a few weeks and will help one of the most famous shooter series to make a comeback. In the future, this should probably make more talk of itself again.

For years, hopes were not heard about a Half-Life 3. In 2019 Valve announced at least with Half-Life: Alyx a spin-off of the well-known game series, which is located between the first and the second part and appears exclusively for VR platforms. A genuine sequel is still missing for the time being, but this could now also be on the plan.
Valve does not see the half-life that will be released on March 23: Alyx is by no means the end of the franchise, but rather a new beginning from which much more could emerge in relation to the shooter brand. At least that is what Robin Walker from Valve concedes in conversation Game Informer on.
"Half-life means a lot and it is incredibly satisfying that we become familiar again with the characters, the setting and the game mechanics," said Walker. "There are members of the Half-Life team: Alyx who have been with Valve since Half-Life 2; some have even been here since the original Half-Life."
This is one of the reasons why the franchise wants to remain loyal, even if it has been on ice for years. Walker did not want to confirm Half-Life 3 directly, but the shooter series will definitely continue after Alyx: "We see Half-Life: Alyx absolutely as our return to this world, not as its end." That sounds promising, doesn't it?
On Half-Life: Alyx herself, Valve recently released three new gameplay videos, which you can watch below. The VR shooter will be available from March 23, 2020.
