Halo Infinite fell short of expectations, but the next installment is set to turn things around. A lead designer has now been found to implement the vision.
After Halo Infinite failed to impress even long-time fans, the next installment is expected to improve things a lot. 343 Industries has hopefully found the right man for this, as the development studio has now appointed a new lead designer for Halo 7.
This is Dan Gniady, who previously worked at Bungie and Creative Assembly, but has now been hired by 343 Industries. Gniady himself announced his new role via LinkedIn and celebrated his new position there. Most recently, he worked as lead designer on the discontinued game Hyenas by Creative Assembly, and before that he worked as a game designer at Bungie for many years.
“After speaking with a lot of cool teams about amazing projects, I now get the chance to work with the Chief and his friends. I love Halo and am really excited to be a part of it and continue to build on its legacy,” said Gniady.
To date, not much is known about the upcoming Halo 7. Rumor has it that the game will be based on the Unreal Engine this time; at least that’s what a job advertisement last year suggested. An official announcement of the game by 343 Industries and Microsoft is still pending; accordingly, there is no release date yet.
