The first public beta of Halo: Anniversary of Combat Evolution on PC is about to begin.
Now that most of the work for the PC version of Halo: Reach is over, developer 343 Industries is shifting its focus to Halo: Anniversary of Battle Evolution, The next game to jump to the PC.
In a forum post, developers announced that testing will begin with external partners later this month and then expand to more players in early February.
Of course, 343 will only deploy builds to Halo Insiders. If you are interested, please register and may be selected in the future.
Initial testing will focus on basic game elements such as dedicated servers and peer-to-peer connections, interaction between Steam and Windows, UI, etc. Some parts of single player battles and multiplayer battles will be provided along with basic character customization.
The exact details of the content have not been disclosed. However, from the perspective of Halo's development, Reach has performed various tests, so they expect a small number of campaign missions and multiplayer modes / maps at the beginning.
