Halo Infinite has been available since December, but not all features are still on board. The co-op mode can also be maintained – longer than initially assumed.
343 Industries has confirmed that the Halo Infinite co-op campaign is a little longer than originally planned. According to this, the feature is not ready for the start of Season 2 either – and that’s when it should have started at the latest.
Since the action series originally launched in 201, support for campaign co-op has been one of the most important features in the franchise. Since then, every game has supported that, the only exception so far: Halo Infinite. Actually, the current part was supposed to support both online and split-screen co-op right after the release, but this had to be postponed first. The feature was last announced for Season 2 in May 2022.
The specific start date of Season 2 is now May 3, 2022, but in the course of this it also became known that the co-op is still not ready. At least 343 Industries confirmed that this should follow later in the season.
When the time comes, campaign co-op will support up to four players online and two players in split-screen. According to 343 Industries, however, it is quite a challenge to integrate the co-op into the open game world of the title. This poses greater challenges for the team, in particular because a distinction is still made between online and split-screen.
