Anyone who continues to play the multiplayer part of Halo Infinite has to be strong: there will apparently be no more seasons after January.
Detached from the actual campaign, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer was released in December 2021 as a standalone part that can be played for free. After an initially strong start, the multiplayer stagnated somewhat quickly and subsequently developer 343 Industries sometimes made debatable decisions. For example, the gaps between individual seasons were sometimes huge. Now the season should be completely over!
After Halo Infinite recently made more positive headlines in the community, also because the last season was the best the game has had to date, 343 Industries wants to change the approach completely. As a result, there will be no more seasons in the action game’s multiplayer after January 30, 2024.
However, the further development of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer will not be completely stopped; Instead, the makers want to go back to releasing regular content updates called “Operations” in the future. The starting signal for this will be given on January 30th – i.e. in a few days.
The bottom line is that these “operations” are significantly smaller than the previous seasons; For fans of the game, the step back from the season-based model is not all that pleasant at first. However, these updates will be released every four to six weeks, so there will be new content in Halo Infinite more regularly.
According to the current community stream, an independent team continues to work on Halo Infinite and new game content, but there are other teams that are already looking towards the future and working on “brand new projects”. The studio continues to grow and has “exciting things” in store for the future.
