343 Industries Releases Winter Update Halo Infinite.
This is the game’s biggest feature update to date, bringing campaign co-op, mission replays, the Forge Beta, and tons of new free content.
Campaign Network co-op supports cross-play across all Xbox devices and PC, with all players sharing progress and unlocks. This means that no matter which platform you play on, you’ll be completing your campaign, unlocking collectibles, unlocking Spartan cores, and more, and all players will progress together, so it’s not just the console that benefits.
In addition to campaign co-op and mission replays, 24 new achievements have been added to the campaign, and finally the Forge beta.
Forge is Halo’s creation tool, which includes a series of additions and improvements as well as advanced and easily accessible tools. It includes six canvas maps, a new visual scripting engine, object scaling, lighting and audio tools, robotics support, budget increases, file sharing capabilities, and more.
Over time, the mode will continue to see updates and support, and evolve to add more content.
A completely free and never-expiring Battle Pass for all players will also be available with the update. This means that even new players who may be coming to Halo Infinite in a few months will still receive the Winter Update Battle Pass for free. It features 30 tiers of rewards and has seen the return of the much sought-after and fan-favorite Halo: Reach-themed cosmetic.
In the coming months, you can also look forward to two free events, each of which will lead to another 10 bonus tiers. In December, Winter Contingency will offer a range of holiday-themed cosmetic items, while in January, the Joint Fire event will revolve around the JFO-class Quake armor and other related cosmetic items.
The winter update also comes with some improved features such as Match XP progression, an overhaul of challenges, two new multiplayer maps: Argyle and Detachment, and new additions to the playlist include Covert One Flag, which is the One Flag A variant of CTF.
In addition to all this new content, Halo Infinite also sees some general tweaks and improvements to the overall experience. It’s also balanced the sandbox, the playlists have been reworked in rotation, the matchmaking experience is being improved, local matchmaking is making its debut, the logic of the CSR process has been improved, the rules for exiting with unbalanced teams have been improved, and more.
