Not only is there movement at Halo Infinite, the development studio 343 Industries can also prepare for exciting times. As has now been announced, there is a renaming to Halo Studios and some fresh information has also been published about the future of the popular shooter series.
343 Industries is now called Halo Studios, nothing else changes? Not quite, because the game company has a few other projects up its sleeve. What’s particularly exciting is moving away from your own engine. The Slipspace Engine was used in Halo Infinite, but it will be retired for the next projects.

Instead, Halo Studios will be using Unreal Engine 5 in the future. This brings several advantages, according to various employees. The studio is developing from a development and technology company to a pure games studio.
To help you get used to Unreal Engine 5, Project Foundry was started by studio art director Chris Matthews. This ran over the last two years and is primarily intended to clarify how Halo can look and function on the new technical substructure.
In a first video we can already see scenes that the team created in Unreal Engine 5. However, it is important for Halo Studios to emphasize that Project Foundry is not a game, but actually focuses on exploring the new technology.
What’s next for the Halo games? Studio head Pierre Hintze makes it clear that not one, but several new titles are in development. All based on Unreal Engine 5, Halo Infinite will continue to be supported on the Slipspace Engine, for example a third-person mode has been confirmed.
The renaming to Halo Studios shouldn’t just be a mere rebranding, there will also be some changes in personnel. The studio is not yet revealing any specific details, but more visions are to be pursued and implemented, more people are to be hired, and they also want to get more involved in external aid.
