The territory where politics and video games meet, some refuse to admit that they are going there, while others happily go there. The creator of a renowned horror license has decided to take a break after a few days in which he had to explain his previous decisions.

On his Personal website, Scott Cawthon announced that he would stop professional video game development and be content with remaining a hobby.. As he celebrates the 7th anniversary of the airing of the first trailer for the original Five Nights at Freddy’s, the father of this series, which continues this year with Security Breach and whose filming is in the works, has had enough.
Early retirement
The week goes by, Cawthon spent explaining itself his financial support Politician: Over $ 36,000, mostly donated by Republican candidates including Mitch McConnell and ex-President Donald Trump.
The Texan developer explained in detail about the Subreddit from FNAF after being accused of being homophobic or racist and even doxx and threatened on social networks, refusing to apologize for the election and to support candidates – including a Democrat – who he believed could lead his country.
But in the face of the pressure and because his pregnant wife no longer feels safe, the 43-year-old Christian, devout and hostile Republican preferred to retire early.
I have had a blessed, prosperous, and rich career. Many have shown me great kindness and I have tried to show great kindness in return. I’ve tried making some good games (I’ll leave the discussion to you), and I’ve helped build what is perhaps the most creative and talented fan base in the world.
But here it is, the seventh anniversary of the trailer for the first game, as I realize I was in my mid 30s when I did the series and now I’m almost halfway there. In my 40s, I realize that I miss a lot of things that I should have focused on before FNaF became so successful. I miss making games for my kids, just miss it for fun and miss playing RPGs even though I smell. All of this to say I’m retiring.
Is this the end of FNAF? No. It just means someone else will pull the strings, someone I will name, someone I trust. We’ll have to wait and see how it all works out, but there will be an announcement for a while.
I now have SIX children (although one of them is the size of a pea). I love her deeply; You are the most precious, my universe. I want to focus all of my attention on them, protect them, and spend my time doing things for them. I just want the fans to respect that decision. I’ll always be there, just more of it. What a blessed career I have had, what wonderful people I have met, and what a blessing to have known you all. Thanks to all.
While one may disagree with Cawthon’s beliefs and value his past supporters, one is unsure whether the options deployed by appropriate individuals or distracters were the smartest.
Especially since he never tried to bring his opinion into his works. The license will survive their departure, but what about this already pandemic-hit episode? Let’s wait and see …
