The French indie developer Dontnod has made a name for itself with narrative titles – and the next coup should now succeed with Harmony: The Fall of Reverie. The game now has a release date, but you can try it out now.
The development studio Dontnod from France, known above all for the successful series Life is Strange, is preparing to hit the next bull’s eye with Harmony: The Fall of Reverie. This is the studio’s previously announced newest narrative game – and it now has a firm release date.
So we won’t have to wait much longer until the full version of the title is available. The versions for PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch will start on June 8th. The other console players have to wait a little longer, because the versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will not follow until June 22, 2023.
If you want to get an idea of Harmony: The Fall of Reverie until then, you already have the opportunity to do so. On the occasion of LudoNarraCon, which takes place from May 4th to 8th, Dontnod has released a playable demo that you can download on Steam. This trial version will be available until May 21st, so be quick. Included is the first act of the game, which introduces the location, story and most of the colorful characters.
What’s the title about? In Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, you take on the role of Polly, a young woman who returns home to search for her missing mother. On her journey, Polly discovers that she has the gift of clairvoyance that connects her to another world, Reverie, where she becomes Harmony. You must seek to restore balance between our world and Reverie, the realm of divine beings known as Aspirations: Glory, Bliss, Power, Chaos, Bonding, and Truth.
As Harmony, you must select an aspiration to become the new heart of humanity. You use the Augural to switch between scenes, see into the future, and open new paths. Reverie is where resources are managed: crystals that sustain harmony through making choices and connecting with aspirations. These unlock important nodes in the story and change the course of fate.
