DON’T NOD, best known for their narrative adventure Life is Strange, has announced a new game at Nintendo Direct, namely Harmony: The Fall of Reverie.
Friends of narrative adventures like Life is Strange or Tell Me Why can look forward to new supplies. Its developers yesterday announced a new title, Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, which is due to be released in June 2023 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. It should, unsurprisingly, once again be a narrative adventure.
In the game, you take on the role of Polly, who returns home after an absence of several years to search for her missing mother. She soon realizes just how negative her hometown has become as a mega-corporation uses its power to oppress its residents.
She quickly realizes that she has a talent for clairvoyance that connects her to the alien world of Reverie, home to mankind’s aspirations: glory, bliss, power, chaos, bondage, and truth. Polly becomes the goddess Harmony, who has the power to decide which of the aspirations will ultimately rule over Reverie. There is a delicate balance between our world and Reverie that is becoming increasingly unstable. It is Harmonie and Polly’s task to restore the balance between the world of aspirations and ours.
Each of Polly and Harmonie’s choices impacts both worlds and opens up new narrative paths. Thanks to the mantic, a game board and the visual representation of Polly’s psychic ability, you can see into the future. There you examine the consequences of possible decisions for humanity, which helps you with future-oriented decisions and gives you clarity. This unique mechanic should also give the game a high replay value.
