  • In the summer of 2023, the final “Indiana Jones” film starring Harrison Ford will be released in cinemas.
  • Antonio Banderas stars alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Call of Fate.
  • Ford has now revealed more details about the 5th part of the “Indiana Jones” series in an interview.

Harrison Ford returns as Indiana Jones this summer. The fifth film is titled “Indiana Jones and the Call of Fate” and is directed by director James Mangold (“Logan”). In addition to starring Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen and Antonio Banderas will also star. Ford has now revealed in an interview that “Indiana Jones 5” will differ greatly from the previous film in one respect.

The 4th “Indiana Jones” film “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, released in 2008, is known to be a decent adventure film that entertains its viewers, but overall fell short of expectations. So the predecessor of “Indiana Jones and the Call of Destiny” didn’t go down as well as one would have liked. Harrison Ford also admits this.

Everything is supposed to be different in the new film and Ford insisted on one thing in particular: All old man jokes and jokes about getting old in general were deleted!

In the screenplay there had probably been one or two jokes about this, but they would have all been thrown out now. So we won’t get to see a scene where Indy watches himself in a situation and wonders what the heck he’s doing.

Opposite the US magazine Hollywood Reporter Ford has admitted that he hates talking about the plot. He prefers to see moments in which the audience experiences the action directly. The audience does not have to have the funny situation explained to them, but should simply find the behavior funny in these moments and decode the situation for themselves.

On June 30, 2023 “Indiana Jones and the Call of Destiny” starts in US cinemas. In Germany, the new cinema adventure with Harrison Ford and Antonio Banderas awaits us the day before. We will provide you with the correct “Indiana Jones” order in preparation!
