Kate is an avid archer and an enthusiastic Hawkeye fan. We have already seen this from the “Hawkeye” trailer. We also see that the two have a mentor-student relationship and not only treat each other with respect but also with one another sarcastically.

Hawkeye: Kate Bishop in den Marvel-Comics

In the Marvel Comics, Kate Bishop has a good relationship with her father. But when he bitterly disappoints her one day, she looks for another role model: Clint Barton alias Hawkeye. She looks up at him and admires that he is a member of the Avengers without superpowers.

Kate leads the young superhero troupe Young Avengers under the superhero coat of Hawkeye. At the time, Clint and Kate didn’t even get to know each other. However, when the two meet one day, Clint gives her his blessing. She even receives Clint’s bow and arrows.

Since then, the two have maintained a friendly mentor-student relationship. Kate continues to look up at Clint. So the saying “never meet your heroes” is not true in this case!

Hawkeye: Who is Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Kate Bishop is played by Hailee Steinfeld (“Bumblebee”) and makes her debut in the Disney + series “Hawkeye”. Just like her comic book template, she admires Clint Barton and emulates him. However, Kate’s failing father is dropped from the comics.

Instead, Kate has a mother in the Disney + series, who doesn’t play a big role in the comics, for example. The role of the mother is played by “Conjuring” star Vera Farmiga.

In the series, Kate Bishop meets her idol very early on. While she’s already fighting crime as Hawkeye in the comics, Kate seems to have officially got the title from Clint in the series.

The trailer shows that she initially fights crime as Ronin. Clint wants to get to the bottom of who is hunting criminals under his former superhero alias and meets Kate. The friendly mentor-student who the two then take care of is like the one from the comics.

When the stories about Kate and Clint get into the Disney + novelty program, the Marvel blockbuster “Eternals” will also run in the cinemas and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is in the starting blocks. Even before the start of “Hawkeye”, a spin-off was confirmed with “Echo”!
