It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new about the HBO TV show’s take on Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us. Now, in an exclusive report from IGN, the cast of the show has been revealed and more information about the plot has been shared.
That said, note that there may be some small spoilers The Last of Us on HBO.
It has been revealed that Lamar Johnson will play the role of Henry and Kevin Woodard will play his brother Sam. The press release describes the brothers as in Kansas City, hiding from a revolutionary movement seeking revenge.
In the original game, we know that Joel and Ellie first met the two brothers in Pittsburgh. However, on the HBO show, each pair will instead meet in Kansas City. Beyond that, little is known about the show’s plot, but there will be new characters to learn about.
The new characters are Malone and Florence, a married couple reportedly trying to survive alone in post-apocalyptic Wyoming. It’s unclear how they’ll connect to the wider story.
It has been revealed that Joel will be played by Pedro Pascal and Ellie will be played by Bella Ramsay. If the duo’s previous efforts are any redeeming, there’s no denying they’ll put on a great show. In addition, Gabriel Luna will play Tommy, while Tommy’s original voice actor, Jeffrey Pierce, will be cast in an as-yet unannounced role.
HBO’s The Last of Us is slated for a 2023 release. Meanwhile, the remake of The Last of Us is worth looking forward to, coming to PlayStation 5 on September 2.
