Not all video games are made for all players. It is a very crude reality that many people refuse to accept, especially when it comes to a delivery as wonderful, complex and acclaimed as Baldur’s Gate 3. There are many who have received a reality check with this adventure and this case, which presents to two friends with opposite opinions, is the perfect example.
Reddit user Dabohl shared a post a few days ago about a somewhat bitter experience. He relates that he did not understand why his friend considered that Baldur’s Gate 3 It’s not that big of a deal and it has a mediocre ending. The Steam hour counter, which was barely over 50 hours after “playing the entire game,” was what sparked a conversation that led to his disappointment.
While everyone is free to play video games as they please, your friend certainly chose the worst possible way. Before starting, we learned about the best classes, races, configurations, most powerful items (location and effect) and how to defeat enemies to take into account. Once in game, he stuck to following the main story (without exploring more than necessary) and chose the most premature ending he found, located in the Act 2. We want to avoid spoilers, so we’ll just say one word for the veterans: bomb.
I think everyone should play however they want, but doing what they did and then saying that the game was “half-finished” and that they wouldn’t play it again just makes me a little angry.
Everyone is free to experience video games in their own way and we shouldn’t draw lines of right/wrong, but Dabohl certainly has reasons to be upset with his friend. Let’s say that he lacked a little will when it came to playing. Baldur’s Gate 3. “So he played a game called Baldur’s Gate without even seeing Baldur’s Gate,” Ok-Worldliness-7374 jokes. Most users in comments (like us) regret that their friend cannot enjoy it. What do you think about the matter? Do you think your friend should give him another chance?
