In Valheim you will soon have to rethink your menu
This also affects the fights: So that the changes in stamina and life energy really affect the gameplay, the developers have also refined the combat system. This means that you should first think about which delicacy you can quickly whistle into before the argument.
Endurance will still be the determining factor in how fast you can strike and how much damage you cause with your hits. How effectively you can block is determined in the future by your maximum life energy.
So if you are toying with repelling the blows of a whole horde of enemies with your shield, you should eat something beforehand that will refresh your life energy to the maximum.

And what about parrying? Parrying is not explicitly mentioned, but since it is basically also a blocking process, one can assume that your life energy counts for this project too.
By the way, a new bar will appear next to your character in battle. This fills up when the enemy hits and signals to you when you are stumbling. Nothing earth-shaking, but still a nice addition.
