Blizzard Entertainment continues to expand its successful trading card game Hearthstone and has now confirmed the next major add-on with “Voyage of the Sunken City”.
In the German version, the expansion is called “Journey to the Sunken City” and WarCraft connoisseurs can already guess: This time it’s all about the Naga and their Queen Azshara. The release of the add-on is scheduled for April 12, 2022.
The theme of the card game is the city of Zin-Azshari, home of the Naga, from mid-April. World of WarCraft players were able to explore this location during the Battle for Azeroth expansion, so now Hearthstone players are following too.
Consequently, there is also a new type of servant with the naga, which will become permanent content in Hearthstone. This has synergy with spells, so you’ll often get bonuses for casting spells when you’re holding a Naga.
“Colossal” is the newly introduced keyword of the expansion, after all, many huge monsters live on the seabed. These giant creatures are too big to fit on one map! Servants with the keyword have additional limbs that synergize powerfully with their main body. These appendages are summoned along with the main body, even if the colossal minion was not played from the hand.
With “mountains” there is even a second new keyword this time. With this you can look at the bottom three cards of your deck and let one of them rise to the top of your deck. You can combine these cards with the “Recovery” keyword with new Azshara cards that send a powerful “sunken” card to the bottom of your deck.
As usual, there is a presale for this expansion in advance. As part of a mega bundle, you’ll get 80 card packs, 5 gold card packs, two random gold legendary cards, the Queen Azshara mage hero skin, Azshara card back, 5 mercenary packs, battleground bonuses, and the new battleground attack, Brawl. A second pre-order bundle contains 60 card packs, two random Legendary cards, and the Azshara card back.
