Seven years after the original release of Hearts of Iron IV, Paradox Interactive takes the grand strategy game to the next level of content with the newly announced add-on called Arms Against Tyranny.
The hardcore strategy game Hearts of Iron IV is far from over. Now, Paradox Interactive has announced Arms Against Tyranny, the latest immersion pack for the title known to be set in World War II. In the new add-on you will find new, alternative stories and national focus trees for the nations of Scandinavia and Finland, with a focus on the Winter War and Finland’s fight against the Soviet invasion.
In times of crisis it is important to be agile, especially when you are the weaker party. Accordingly, you must pay attention to the rapidly changing conditions of diplomacy. You build an army that can exploit weather and terrain to outwit a superior enemy, and find alternate routes to prosperity and security. Sometimes winter is the only ally, as it also allows for the use of new tactics and techniques.
The upcoming new pack also includes new ways to develop your own armaments industry and sell weapon concepts to warring nations.
The most important features of the Immersion Pack according to official information at a glance:
- New Finnish National Focus Tree: Players walk the diplomatic tightrope of a democratic nation caught between various threats. You develop a powerful defense army or pursue alternative historical paths and cooperate with the neighboring tyrants.
- New Swedish National Focus Tree: Resource-rich and fiercely independent, Sweden can be the center of a united Scandinavian resistance or a game-changing ally in the ongoing battle of ideologies.
- New Danish and Norwegian focus trees: Can players use their knowledge of history to prepare these small nations for the storm of war that is soon to descend on their shores?
- Military-industrial organizations: Players customize their armaments industries by encouraging national companies to specialize in the weapon types and technologies they want for their armed forces.
- International arms market: By selling weapons and equipment to the warring nations, players become the world’s quartermaster. In return, they receive civilian factory capacity.
- And beyond: New unit graphics, ten new pieces of music, customization of special units and greater specialization of divisions.
Accompanying the paid add-on there is also a free update for all owners of the main game with various improvements.
