Game news Heavy for Minecraft coming?
While it doesn’t update as often as we’d like, Minecraft continues to captivate gamers. Recently, however, a very specific term has just been registered by Microsoft that could herald some new features.
A promising new update
We found out at the beginning of March that the long-awaited 1.20 update by players now goes by the sweet nickname Trails & Tales. If we don’t yet know much about the content of the latter, the first edition of the Minecraft Monthly Show (available above, unfortunately only in English) has allowed us to learn a little more about what we can hope to see in the coming months.
Among the novelties we note, for example, the arrival of new animals (including camels and sniffers) as well as a brand new biome inspired by the famous cherry blossoms typical of the Japanese archipelago. Very focused on exploration and the stories that it can tell, update 1.20 also offers the opportunity to rediscover the desert thanks to some artifacts and other objects that we can search for like real archaeologists. In addition to these important additions, Minecraft players can also enjoy some new building elements such as bamboo, hanging shields and rafts. Unfortunately, it’s still impossible to give an exact release date for all of this content, although we could expect a release this summer.
Minecraft se la joue house of the dragon?
While the 1.20 update is eagerly awaited by fans, it’s not the one that’s been the most talked about over the past few days. As a matter of fact, Microsoft recently trademarked the name “Ender Dragon” for the service justice
One of the most likely theories would be that Microsoft is preparing to develop a spin-off based around the Ender Dragon. In fact, the company is not on its first game that comes from the cubic universe, since there is already the hack’n’slash Minecraft Dungeons and the action game Minecraft Legends is currently in development. However, there’s no confirmation that this trademark registration necessarily means the arrival of a spin-off, or even anything concrete.
However, it’s worth remembering when notch (the creator of Minecraft) was still part of the development team, he dreamed of being able to add more dragons to the base game. In fact, he said in 2011:
There will be several different dragons. The ender dragon will likely get bigger, and those in the main world will grow to their current size, won’t be able to cross terrain, and will be red because dragons are red.
If none of these desires ended up incorporating the game, it’s entirely conceivable that a spin-off of Minecraft would eventually see the light of day and focus more on those famous dragons. Whether or not the fact that Microsoft trademarked “Ender Dragon” has anything to do with this old project from the father of Minecraft remains to be seen.
