If you’ve ever wondered what Hellraiser 2 would be like if it came out in the ’90s, like so much of the media that inspired its core themes and narrative, then you’re in luck. Some fans have already dreamed up 16-bit remakes, and are even willing to work with Arrowhead to turn their creations into actual gaming campaigns.
While new major orders keep coming in, some divers have been distracted lately by data mining and potential war bond leaks. Sadly, by showing you this, I doubt I can help you focus on defeating the Automata, since the strategy of splitting their forces into two teams has worked.

Without further ado, here’s 64 Bits’ remaster of Helldivers 2 for Neo Geo/Arcades, which you can watch in the video below. While this is just a trailer for a project being made at Newgrounds, it’s made by a team that’s experienced in doing this kind of thing.
For example, they’ve previously created renders of games like Elden Ring on the SNES and Palworld on the Nintendo DS. As you can see, their latest work does a great job of capturing the frantic action of Helldivers 2 and porting it over to an old-school skin that somehow feels more like recording 15 copies of Demolition Man at home, just in case something happens to one of them.
“It was a lot of fun making it! We know it’s just a video and isn’t actually playable (although we’d love to make more playable versions in the future),” one of its creators, user nbshar, wrote in a post about the build on Reddit. They added: “If Arrowhead/Helldivers wants to make a mini-game version for your ship in Helldivers 2 we’d definitely go for it lol…”
Obviously, they’re most likely joking, but judging by the number of flags on Arrowhead Chief Business Officer Johan Pilestedt’s Reddit account, it seems like a lot of people are hoping the studio behind the FPS hit will contact them and call their bluff. After all, who doesn’t need more reasons not to get out of their dropship every now and then?
