Helldivers 2’s player limits are up again, so hopefully we’ll be able to actually play it this weekend

Helldivers, Limits, Play, player, weekend

Helldivers 2 is a lot of fun, which is why it’s still incredibly popular, despite frequent server issues that prevent large numbers of players from actually playing it. Thankfully, the game’s concurrent user cap got another nice bump ahead of the weekend.

Yep, a patch was released shortly after that fixed the dreaded black screen launch issue and added a handy auto-launch timer for those players who’ve been trying to stay on the server by keeping the game running during AFK, here’s DJ Khaled once said, another. You certainly can’t complain about Arrowhead’s employees not working hard.

In a 3 a.m. tweet — the best tweet ever, by the way — Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt announced: “We’ve updated our biggest [concurrent user] The upper limit is 700,000 [players]”. He went on to add that while the studio anticipates player numbers may begin to challenge the new limits in the near future, the change will hopefully mean “wait times will be more bearable.”

So if you’re eager to attend the Vietnam Robotics Show in the next few days, you might have a less frustrating time, even if you’re definitely not guaranteed to have to take it easy in the queue. If so, you’ve at least had a chance to check out the instructions for patch 1.000.12, which arrives with the increased player capacity.

What’s in them, you ask? Well, there’s a solution that addresses “an issue where some players are stuck in cutscenes for extended periods of time,” and a series of issues that Arrowhead admits it’s either already aware of or actively working on a solution for, or both. Of.

Issues on that list include issues logging in and joining a game when the server is under attack, and the fact that picking up certain in-game objects can sometimes cause “characters to freeze in place for long periods of time,” which seems sub-optimal.

There’s also a bullet point that rather cryptically says “other unknown behavior may occur” without further elaboration, which is a bit interesting in my opinion.

If you’re eagerly awaiting the deployment of the original Hellraiser mecha in Hellraiser 2, then hopefully you won’t have to wait too long.
