Helldivers 2 may be getting a brand new patch this week with more performance fixes, as Arrowhead sticks to its current focus of correcting as many issues as possible before considering adding any major content.

There’s been some debate lately about whether the studio should stick with its current plan of fixing the issues first and then spending some time polishing the additional content. However, from what I’ve heard, most people seem to agree that making sure it’s as problem-free as possible is still a worthy priority to some degree.

With players still reporting a ton of issues on social media, people have been eager to know when Arrowhead’s next hotfix will be released, and the good news is that it looks like it could be released as early as this week. That’s according to comments from the studio’s current CEO Shams Jorjani and a community manager, though both stressed that a timeline hasn’t been set yet.

“Looks like the update will be coming this week,” Giorgani tweeted in response to a player’s various questions that have caused him to not play regularly lately. “Hopefully it works! But we’ll keep working on it regardless.”

On the game’s Discord server, community manager Twinbeard also shared the same news, writing: “There may be a hotfix this week, but it’s not 100% confirmed yet, so don’t be mad if it doesn’t. As for the next big update, it will be a while. Holiday time and more of what we said before, we are reducing the cadence of big updates.”

“We won’t be gone for a month,” they added in response to a player who suggested that the need to give the development team some well-deserved vacation might be what they meant. “Our progress has slowed down due to many colleagues going on vacation, but the office will still be open and people are still working. There will almost certainly be no big patches during this period. Small improvements and/or hotfixes are not ruled out.”

Twinbeard also admitted that the team is aware of potential things that need to be looked into, such as developing/improving “ways to reduce grief” and improving its accessibility options, such as adding a dedicated colorblind mode.
