You probably won’t believe this, but there’s a bug in Hellraiser 2 that players aren’t spending hours begging Arrowhead to fix, as they have been doing for the past few months. What’s different about this bug? Well, it’s basically funny.
Yeah, unlike the issues with the spear, the advanced packaging methods not working as expected, or the various performance issues people have reported, this little issue is not serious. I think you would do that if you gave people something to emulate instead of just not wanting some anti-tank mine that they were worried Arrowhead was going to sneak in on them the other day.

While it’s been known for at least a few months that a Helldiver thrown into the air can emote in midair—saluting or hugging when they should be ragdoll-like—players have recently discovered that doing so seems to be a pretty reliable way to reduce the damage they take from falling.
The video gained a lot of attention after someone tested this by bouncing off high objects multiple times, and it became a trending topic on the game’s subreddit – understandably so, as it’s pretty entertaining to watch your character’s body suddenly snap into a stiff salute or T-pose as it hurtles towards the ground.
If you’re wondering how it works, the current theory seems pretty simple. If you rag doll your diver’s body will fall to the ground, more likely to injure your head, whereas if you freeze you seem more likely to land on other parts of your body in a less lethal manner. It’s likely there’s more going on under the hood, but that’s the gist of what people are observing.
While that’s all well and good, the surge in attention the strategy has received has sparked paranoia in some people, who are suddenly worried that Arrowhead might have caught on to it and tinkered with it, since it literally blocks divers from being harmed by the galaxy’s greatest enemy: gravity.
Some have called on the developers to do the opposite and not only preserve this quirk, but go a step further and make it canon. “The Helldivers of Super Earth have shown such dedication to their cause that they rely on the power of managed democracy to continue fighting,” one player said of the recognition, “Our heroic warriors have been observed many times to survive fatal falls simply through displays of unwavering patriotism.”
