The main quest that Hellraiser 2 has been working on for the past few days has been quite interesting indeed, with the latest developments seeming to hint at some new weapons that may be coming to the first Hellraiser.
If you didn’t know, the MO has assigned personnel to hold down Planet X-45 in order to excavate the ruins of an “advanced weapons laboratory lost during the First Galactic War” that was “dedicated to the development of a powerful interstellar battle station” before falling into disrepair. As you can imagine, this is of great interest to the old diver.

As they work to do this, players have been given the latest strategic update, which reads: “The first layer of rubble covering the X-45 Advanced Weapons Lab has been cleared. Initial reports indicate the facility is largely intact.
“The labs may even contain a collection of still-functional weapons from the time of the First Galactic War. Further excavation is ongoing.” So, there’s some excitement beyond the space station, but it seems that excitement is also accompanied by a large number of memes about anti-tank mines.
You see, among those who posted that they wish Arrowhead would give them the M2016 Constitution (the weapon introduced in Hellraiser 1 to celebrate Freedom Day 2016) or the LAS-13 Trident, there are many who think that these retro weapons are most likely just anti-tank mines that they don’t care much about. In fact, in previous MOs, the player base has been given many opportunities to obtain these mines, but they chose not to do so every time, and even chose to do a truly good thing on one occasion, which was to save some children.
We’ll just have to see how things pan out, but any additional weapons in the near future will be a nice treat, as Arrowhead isn’t making any major changes or deploying any War Bonds for the time being to give its developers some downtime and stick to its new update cadence.
Still, it’s working on a lot of fixes, and community manager Twinbeard just provided more information via Discord this morning about how the recently problematic Superior Packing Methodology ship module is currently functioning. In short: “SPM is indeed functioning as intended (with a minor bug mentioned [in the Discord post here]We’re considering making some tweaks to improve the experience, but overall it’s working fine.”
