News culture Henry Cavill finally comments on the Highlander reboot and is already there!
The Highlander remake is taking shape. While director Chad Stahelski spoke about the project again last year, this time actor Henry Cavill is speaking about his role. And he seems ready to give it his all for this remake.
Henry Cavill the Immortal
Things are starting to take shape for the remake of the Highlander film. We recently learned that the production studio Lionsgate and director Chad Stahelski had managed to reach an agreement on the long-awaited relaunch of the franchise with this feature film. Instead of Christophe Lambert, British actor Henry Cavill was chosen to play the immortal warrior in this project.
The actor was recently interviewed by ComicBook.com about this role. In full promotion of his new film Argylle, Henry Cavill shared some information about the film Highlander. Initially evasive, the actor admitted that he now had to start a long training session.
There is still a lot to do on my side. It will be quite an adventure, I can assure you.
In another interview with ColliderHenry Cavill once confirmed that he had intensive training to prepare for the role, without revealing more.
The training now begins in earnest. It’s going to be a long workout and I’m excited to get started. There is so little I can tell you right now. I want to keep everything secret for as long as possible.
A true daredevil
Highlander is a film with many sword fighting sequences, a perfect role for Henry Cavill, who has become a real daredevil for the demands of The Witcher series. As a reminder, the first feature film “Highlander” from 1986 told the story of Connor McLeod, a Scottish warrior who was trained by one of his colleagues, Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez, and became immortal. In different eras, Connor McLeod had to face other immortals in order to survive and regain their powers by decapitating them. At the time, “Highlander” was a feature film that received little attention, which eventually spawned an entire franchise that has become legendary over the years. Of course, we hope that Chad Stahelski and Henry Cavill manage to attract a new audience while satisfying long-time fans. To find out, we’ll see you in 2026 at best.
