It seems like it’s been a long few months for Henry Cavill, who stepped down from his role as Geralt in the Witcher series earlier this year and revealed on Wednesday the 14th that he will no longer be Superman .
However, Kaer Morhen armor and red cape aside, Henry Cavill appears to be far from done blending his passions for gaming and acting. First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill is currently set to star in and executive produce a series of films based on Warhammer 40,000 with the help of Amazon.
The popular sci-fi miniature war game, which first appeared in 1987, involved war and combat using miniature models. Set in a war-torn future where supernatural forces and aliens are rampant, this board game has become the most popular game of its kind.
Throughout the game, human civilization is stagnant, wars are never ending, and there are multiple races with different agendas to discuss. Henry Cavill himself is no stranger to the series, showing off some of the models he’s spent time drawing on Instagram.
That is to say, Amazon is still in final talks to secure the rights to the game, by Games Workshop. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this has been going on for several months, with Amazon “fending off rivals who are also seeking rights.”
So, there’s a good chance this is yet another missed opportunity for Henry Cavill, but cross your fingers that the famous nerd can finally work on something cool again.
