If you’ve been away for a while, coming back to a game like Destiny 2 can be a little overwhelming. Heck, it’s hard to rejoin even if you’ve only been away for a few weeks! Shared-world shooters like this change a lot in a short amount of time, and if you come back blindly, it’s easy to get lost in a sea of icons, quests, and new loot.
But don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Whether you want a quick and easy way to arm yourself with some new and quirky Destiny 2 witch-queen aliens, want to level up quickly, or just want to improve your Throneworld reputation, we’ve got you covered.
But you’re probably also looking for a more general guide; an easy-to-follow, easy-to-parse “way into” the witch queen that tells you everything you need to do (and the order you need to do it). To that end, check out the video above and follow the simple steps below to get the most out of Bungie’s latest — and quite possibly the greatest — extension.
Play legendary battles
The new campaign has two levels; Regular and Legendary. Quickly clearing normal gear can increase your power level to 1500, but clearing legendary gear can increase it to 1520, while also gaining some extra exotics (and some other valuable upgrade materials) for your class. Of course, It’s an added challenge, but once you’ve experienced it once, it’s definitely doable — and the rewards are definitely worth it.
Use the Glaive!
The newest weapon in Destiny 2 is the Glaive, a hybrid ranged and melee tool that is devastating in both PvP and PvE. You can get it in the campaign, and if you have the right timing, it even lets you block incoming damage. Unlock it early, use it well, and you may never touch the sword again.
Get new exotics
Of course it wouldn’t be a new Destiny expansion without a ton of Exotics to unlock, would it? Whether you’re shooting grubs with a gun, hunting for an exotic hunter that will make you immune, or just trying to unlock a ridiculously sweet business, the witch queen has plenty to do when it comes to hunting down rare weapons and gear – once you’re done with your campaign , which should be one of your main goals.
Catch the Overture Catalyst quest
If you own the Season Pass, you’ll be able to unlock Grand Overture (a bullet-style machine gun) as soon as you enter the new expansion. Head straight to Banshee-44 and speak to the weapon vendor to unlock the Catalyst quest so you can properly power this impressive new weapon. After all, if you’re going into a Legendary campaign, you’ll probably want it to be at peak efficiency.
Visit the enclave, craft your gun
A big new selling point for the Witch Queen is weapon crafting – it may seem a little complicated at first, but experimenting with different perks to add to your weapons will ease your chances of minimizing/maximizing your builds in the future Some pain to get to. So when you upgrade your weapon, you have more control over how it handles and adapts it to your build. You’ll unlock more crafting options as you play, so check back often and don’t forget to improve your stuff!
upgrade your gun
Using guns allows you to upgrade your coordination, which in turn allows you to do more fun things with your guns. So if you have some nice Legendary (read; purple) tier gear in your inventory, make sure you spin it often so you can take it to the Enclave and craft it when it’s leveled up enough. Even imperfect gun drops are worth using, so you can unlock their perks and shun them into other guns. Now everything you do is progressing, cheers Bungie!
Running PsiOps: Battlefield
These new seasonal events are really fun and offer some great rewards! Plus, the whole concept behind them – infiltrating the mind of the Hive boss and eliminating an aspect of Savathun that’s hidden there – is something really interesting that goes deep into the Destiny lore. Come enjoy the cool setup and leave impressive loot! What’s not to like?
