Among the AIs capable of generating an image from text, Midjourney is the best known. However, other software and services can achieve the same thing.
Thanks to its creative quality, Midjourney has established itself at the top of the generative image AI ranking. Thanks to a dedicated Discord server, the very latest version of this AI is now available to all users, which greatly facilitates access to this advanced technology and opens up exciting perspectives.
After the free trial, Midjourney offers monthly subscriptions for different user needs at prices of $10, $30, or $60 per month. If your free trial has expired but you still want to create images from text, here are some great alternatives.
DALL∙E
Unlike other image-generating AIs, DALL∙E is able to understand and interpret complex descriptions and generate images consistently and realistically. Its abilities show promise for various applications such as designing objects, creating video games or producing advertisements.
In order to be able to use DALL∙E, all you have to do is create an OpenAI account. So you are entitled to 15 requests per month, but if you want more you can buy 115 requests for $15/month.
crayon
crayon is a lightweight, open-source version of OpenAI’s DALL∙E AI. Free and easy to use, it generates a 9-image mosaic in response to a text request. Renderings are less accurate and take longer than Midjourney or DALL∙E, but paid subscriptions reduce processing time.
However, the creations produced by Craiyon have a clearly visible aliasing effect, which may limit their use for professional purposes.
night cafe
night cafe is an AI-based logo creation platform that allows the user to choose from a variety of algorithms and styles to generate images. The platform allows you to create between 1 and 16 images at a price ranging from 0 to 6.75 credits.
Although the level of detail provided is of good quality, it is lower than that of Midjourney. The platform is free for occasional use, but for more intensive use it is possible to subscribe to a subscription.
Bing Image Creator
Bing Image Creator is an online tool that uses artificial intelligence to generate custom creative images from keywords or phrases. It is integrated with Bing Images, the Bing AI chatbot, but also with the Microsoft Edge browser.
Bing’s image builder is based on an extended version of OpenAI’s DALL∙E model. Each user gets a limited number of Creative Credits, but you can redeem Microsoft Rewards points to “top up” your account. And if you run out of credit, you can keep generating images; except that you have to wait longer.
