Is there a topic more subjective than the debate about the best game of all time? Every time a cult work is released, it returns to the table. The polls conducted by the world’s largest media usually crown different titles. This time it’s the famous GQ magazine that makes the start. The media polled more than 200 video game experts to rank the 100 greatest games of all time. Here is the result.
And the best game ever is…
To determine this classification, GQ asked over 200 streamers, developers and journalists to rate their 10 favorite games. The interview partners include well-known personalities from the scene and industry such as Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar or journalist Jeff Grubb. Each of them had to submit a ranking of their top ten video games. A first place game receives 10 points, for 10th place only one.
In the end, GQ received 239 rankings, which allowed it to establish the top 100 games in history. In third place is the cult tetrisreleased on Elektronika 60 in 1984.
