»Hi, I'm Phil and I'll be taking you through the night at the Game Awards in the live ticker today! I have been on board at GameStar.de since 2013 and manage the newsroom. Accordingly, new announcements, trailers and news are my mission anyway. And don't worry: If school, work or university prevents you from having an all-nighter, I'll summarize all the reveals at the end as a clear recap at the top of the live ticker. As a refresher, here are the Game of the Year winners from the last five years:
- 2023: Baldur’s Gate 3
- 2022: Elden Ring
- 2021: It Takes Two
- 2020: The Last of Us 2
- 2019: Ax: Shadows Die Twice
Some users online find it questionable that Elden Ring has been nominated for Game of the Year again this year with its DLC Shadow of the Erdtree. Cyberpunk DLC Phantom Liberty wasn't nominated in this category last year.
