The big announcement season is finally here. To find your way around and not to miss anything, here is a schedule of Summer Game Fest 2023 conferences with their dates, times and expected confirmed games.
E3 is dead, long live Summer Game Fest. For years, summer has been synonymous with big video game announcements. Historically, the American living room has been the scene of successive events for several days. A rapid pace that gave the French players long sleepless nights. But with COVID-19 and the democratization of pre-recorded digital conferences, E3 has lost its luster and failed to adapt. His great replacement comes into play: the Summer game festival 2023. Big conferences, long-awaited announcements, surprises – the event has become the new annual event. This year is expected to be particularly busy despite fewer conferences on the programme. You can find the full schedule of the SGF here.
When is Summer Game Fest 2023?
The pandemic has transformed the video game industry. Where E3 was the annual event not to be missed, Geoff Keighley and his Summer Game Fest have taken over and established themselves as THE event of the summer. The program promises to be similar to the previous editions: new games, major publishers’ conferences, world premieres, gameplay, interviews with developers and surprises of all kinds. These are the promises of this new edition.
If Sony has more or less opened the ball with its PlayStation Showcase, this year’s Summer Game Fest 2023 kicks off on June 7th with the Guerrilla Showcase, which will showcase both independent games and mid-size productions. But the actual meeting will take place on June 8th with the launch party of the SGF 2023, which again promises to be full of announcements and surprises. The celebrations will then continue for a full week with several conferences. showcases

Please note that more events may be added over the weeks. We’re thinking in particular of Nintendo, which is likely to host a direct in the summer. Do not hesitate to return to the article regularly. We will update it once a new Summer Game Fest 2023 conference is confirmed. Note that you’ve exceptionally added Netflix Tudum to the list. When it’s not officially part of the SGF (unlike last year), it should be reserved for announcements surrounding video game and geek adaptations. So it seemed relevant to us to include it in the schedule.
Conferences not to miss and what to expect
The observation is striking: there will be fewer conferences than last year and that’s probably no worse. It will avoid that showcases Publishers who seem to endlessly fill in the gaps with announcements and uninteresting discussions. Big players in the industry that don’t host their own events will therefore benefit from the aura of the Summer Game Fest conference or maybe even the Xbox Games Showcase. For those who only want to see the essential dates, here is our selection with a taste of what to expect.
Summer Game Fest Conference 2023 – June 8th at 9pm
This is THE event of the summer not to be missed: the great Summer Game Fest 2023 conference. As there are surprises, this edition promises to be particularly rich in announcements. Among the confirmed headliners: Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, Mortal Kombat 1 or Alan Wake 2. Square Enix, Sony, Microsoft or even Bandai Namco are just some of the names among many others that will perform for almost two hours. Geoff Keighley even promises three or four announcements that should leave players completely speechless. We’re now suspicious of his pretty words, but they still make you want to believe it. Especially when there’s something going on around FF7 Rebirth…
Devolver Digital Showcase – June 9 at midnight
If you’re a night owl, don’t miss the Devolver Digital Showcase, which takes place just hours after the Summer Game Fest conference. The independent game publisher should nevertheless inspire us with a completely unusual and crazy presentation. Suffice it to say that we are already certain that this will be the craziest conference ever. Some expected games including The brave squire, should announce their news. Devolver had some surprises in store. We can already see how you dream about itHotline Miami 3. What if this year was the right one?
Tribeca Games Spotlight 2023 – June 9 at 7 p.m
Wholesome Direct 2023 – June 10th at 6pm
A little sweetness in a world full of blanks. THE Healthy direct
Future Games Show – Summer Game Fest Edition
It’s far from the biggest conference at Summer Game Fest 2023, but it’s easily the biggest when it comes to AA productions and indie games. As every year, the GamesRadar+ website offers a comprehensive event to also give lesser-known developers a chance to have their say. We are sometimes entitled to a few surprises, games of the likes of Life is Strange True Colors or others have announced their news in previous editions. For this Future Games Show Summer 2023The presentations will be attended by Yuri Lowenthal and Laura Bailey, including Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Xbox & Bethesda Showcase + Starfield
Impossible to miss. The Xbox & Bethesda Showcase returns this summer with a particularly highly anticipated edition. Microsoft will present its future exclusive products for two hours. We can expect to have release dates for the brand’s next games, including Hellblade 2 and Forza Mortosport, as well as news on upcoming titles from Xbox Game Studios such as Explained, Fable 4 or Perfect Dark. The Xbox Game Pass should still benefit from a nice highlight and a few third-party publishers should make an appearance. The focus, however, is on Bethesda’s next big game. The Starfield Direct, which presents the space role-playing game in detail, will take place after the conference.
PC gaming show
PC players don’t have to pause at Summer Game Fest. The PC Gaming Show is back this year with an even denser edition. More than 55 games will be present, with particularly awaited titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, dune awakening or Frostpunk 2. The conference should also have some surprises in store.
Ubisoft Forward
This will be the last major conference before Gamescom 2023. Ubisoft is betting heavily on its annual event. The French publisher is not in top form and has to convince the audience with its next productions. Headlining: Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar Limits from Pandora, The motorsport crew and the newly announced AC Nexus. Nevertheless, the conference could hold some surprises. Will we see Massive’s Star Wars game or the absolute Arlesian? Beyond Good and Evil 2 ? See you on June 12th to find out.
