Gaming News Hideo Kojima: After Death Stranding, a new horror game in preparation?
Hideo Kojima is back in gaming news as a new rumor has surfaced about plans for a new horror game, and no, it’s not Silent Hill.
When rumor rhymes with horror
Last month, during an interview with website Leo Edit, Norman Reedus ignited the internet by dropping the announcement of a possible Death Stranding sequel. In response, Hideo Kojima teases the project with a touch of humor without officially confirming the information.
But Metal Gear Solid’s “father” appears to have several projects under his belt, including a rumored new horror game. And who says “rumor” obviously says “big tweezers”. Spontaneously it’s hard not to think of Silent Hills and its demo called PT, a survival horror project piloted by Hideo Kojima and director Guillermo del Toro that never came to fruition as it was finally abandoned. Well no. Today, according to journalist Tom Henderson of Try hard guides, It would be a new title currently being named overdose.

Tom Henderson says he received the first images of the game through a source on condition of anonymity overdose. These would show up a character wearing a blue dress and walk down dark corridors with a flashlight in hand, and who appears to be played by Margaret Qualley. If that name means anything to you, it’s becauseThis is the actress who played the role of mom in Death Stranding. The whole thing was in the third-person perspective, but it was hinted that the game would be playable in the first-person perspective as well. Tom Henderson rejects the state of death hypothesis and adds that The sequence stopped at a “GAMEOVER” followed by the message “A Hideo Kojima Game… OVERDOSE”.
If caution is in order, Jeff Grubb, a reputable insider, said that Hideo Kojima is definitely negotiating the release of his next game on Xbox without knowing more or whether or not a deal has been struck. Also, knowing that Summer Games Fest creator Geoff Keighley is a close friend of Hideo Kojima, it wouldn’t be surprising if an announcement landed on this occasion.
