The deal between Hideo Kojima and Xbox is moving forward.
According to a new GamesBeat report, Hideo Kojima Has been with MicrosoftAs the first step in reaching an agreement, the agreement will enable the next project of the legendary designer to be released by Xbox.
Of course, neither Microsoft nor Kojima have publicly announced that they are talking to each other, but this signing shows that things are moving forward. The next step is for the lawyers of both parties to negotiate the details and finalize the specific details.
The report also revealed that Kim Swift, a senior game designer who has participated in projects such as Portal and Left 4 Dead, has joined Microsoft to help Kojima realize his next idea. Swift was selected for his expertise in cloud gaming in Stadia. Of course, Kojima has previously stated that he is interested in exploring the potential of the cloud in his next project.
It is unclear whether this game only exists in the cloud, but it looks like cloud computing/delivery will be a major part of it. It seems that there is no specific tone for the game, but the two parties just want to use each other’s expertise.
Finally, the report shows that no matter what kind of deal is reached, it will not prevent Kojima from cooperating with other publishers (such as Sony) on different projects.
