If you are players of MMORPG, you will well know that it is important to defend ourselves, conserve your resources and know how to face any threat. You never know what kind of thug you’re going to come across in the middle of a game, but there is always one figure above any user: a developer.
The DAT_DROP user has related that he himself was a member of the team at The 3DO Company, the company dedicated to creating Meridian 59
DAT_DROP’s work was based on creating backup copies every week and ensuring that the maintenance of the servers was always ready, so it took advantage of its powers to carry out an unprecedented experiment. He saved the game state and sent a command to all the servers before shutting them down with the order to kill all players
“Player corpses started piling up on every map screen – thousands of them – until the servers stopped. I basically killed every player who had logged into the only 3D MMORPG on the planet at the time,” he explains. DAT_DROP, at the same time pointing out that we are talking about a fact that cannot be repeated in any other work.
In response to the doubts of the most skeptical, he assured that “you can set up a server and try it yourself”, although it is clear that the effect will not be as devastating as the one it caused in Meridian 59. It is unknown how many people he managed to annihilate in one fell swoop but, even if there were not as many players as in his current counterparts, of course the figure must not be a joke.
