The magic fights are one of the highlights of Hogwarts Legacy: Many spells can be linked to form spectacular combos, so that your opponents can hardly fight back.
On Reddit, a user caused a stir with a particularly expansive magic combo – and immediately started a competition.
The longest magic combo in the world?
A whopping 2,427 spells were fired out by u/candletastetester one after the other. Even an Albus Dumbledore would break a sweat! The fight cost him almost half an hour of his life – in which he can’t have lost his rhythm once, otherwise the combo would have been interrupted.
Unfortunately, he didn’t record a video of his fight, but at least he shares this pic of evidence on Reddit:

He also explains how this record-breaking combo series came about in the first place:
- His opponent was a river troll, not an Inferi as many in the comments have suggested. The undead only take damage if you set them on fire first, so would be ideal for combos like this.
- He mainly used spells that did little or no damage
- He hadn’t put on any equipment, so despite the high level he did almost no damage
In the comments, someone wanted to know if the combo wasn’t getting incredibly boring. candletastetester’s answer:
Yes and no. I did it for the memes, that’s what fueled me along the way.
The open world of Hogwarts Legacy tempts many players to wild experiments. Sometimes intentionally, for example with the overpowering chewing cabbage attack. Or through bugs that many would like to have as a real feature. Here again:
Of course, Reddit is now running an unofficial competition to see who can pull off the longest magic combo. Some want to try a 10,000 magic chain, which should then take around two hours. Do you try such insane challenges or do you prefer to just explore the world and story of Hogwarts Legacy?
