Avalanche Software and Warner Bros Games announce news about Hogwarts Legacy that is very good. Something new is coming to the game this summer, with a little surprise for players on certain platforms.
It may not seem like it, but it’s been almost a year since Hogwarts Legacy released on consoles and PC. Set in the Harry Potter universe, the game was a real commercial success, although it was not unanimously praised by critics. The open-world title may not have picked up any awards at the 2023 Game Awards and other ceremonies, but it topped sales in many countries last year, dethroning Call of Duty. As this symbolic anniversary approaches, Warner Bros Games is making a surprising announcement.
Something new is coming to Hogwarts Legacy
Players will soon have a good reason to return to Hogwarts. Since its release last February, Hogwarts Legacy has been very quiet, be it in terms of updates, new features or even content. Many people are waiting for an extension to extend the adventure and that could be the case this year. If DLC isn’t mentioned directly, Warner Bros Games took the floor this Friday, January 26th to promise new features for this year.
This begins with the availability of the “Take Care of Your Cauldron” quest, which was previously reserved for PS5 and PS4 players. As the exclusivity ends, it will be available for free to everyone this summer. At the same time, the publisher promises “additional updates and features for Hogwarts Legacy”. There are currently no further details, Warner only notes that new information will be communicated in the coming months. The Hogwarts students did not hide their joy, as they had been asking for new content for several months.
As we approach the first anniversary of Hogwarts Legacy, we wanted to let our community know that exclusive PlayStation content will be available on other platforms later this summer, along with updates and additional features for the game. Stay tuned. Tune in in the coming months for more details on what’s coming to Hogwarts Legacy this year.
An upcoming DLC?
So the game is likely to be followed up in 2024, and these few words were enough to revive the rumors of a DLC. It’s impossible to know what it really is, even though Avalanche Software has made it clear in the Quidditch case: it won’t happen. Aspiring wizards can at least look forward to new quests, probably new in-game items and some additional new features. In any case, it seems so substantial that we will have to wait until summer. So will it really be a big update accompanying the DLC, like Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty? We’ll just have to wait to find out, but Avalanche Software has started expanding its ranks recently. Maybe for an inevitable sequel and to set up that new content. Wait and see what they say.
And you, what new things would you like to see in Hogwarts Legacy?
