The promising Hogwarts Legacy was finally presented in detail as part of a separate edition of the State of Play video format from Sony PlayStation. At the same time, the release period was also tightened.
Hogwarts Legacy takes up the Harry Potter franchise in an ambitious way and transports it into a large-scale open-world adventure based around the famous magic school. After a long wait, the game was presented in detail yesterday in a state-of-play edition and at the same time given a rele ase period: Avalanche Software will release the title in autumn 2022 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S publish; the exact date is still pending.
Detached from this now confirmed release period in the current year, there was all sorts of gameplay to see; the corresponding presentation lasted no less than 15 minutes and you can watch it again in the video as part of this message.
In it, you can get a glimpse of character creation and other in-game activities that await you both inside and outside the school grounds. Hogwarts Legacy is set in the late 1800s, about 100 years before Harry Potter arrives.
You must create your wizard or witch and begin your career as a fifth year student. The introduction familiarizes you with the game systems and controls, and also introduces your character to the current story. You also get to deal with a conflict about goblins and dark wizards. In the tutorial you have to fathom a goblin rebellion and meet, among other things, a new NPC named Professor Figg. In the further course of the presentation, a “darker path” is also indicated, which you can apparently also walk.
Otherwise, Hogwarty Legacy picks up many of the classic action RPG mechanics, including crafting, skill trees, groups, NPCs, and more.
