The immensely successful Hogwarts Legacy is set to receive a huge amount of new game content. These will probably come both as DLC and as part of a new Definitive Edition.
When Hogwarts Legacy, set in the Harry Potter universe, was released in February 2023, the game hit like a bomb. The magic school adventure found countless fans and enjoyed great popularity – so it’s no wonder that Hogwarts Legacy will continue to be a priority at Warner Bros. in the future. Far from a likely sequel, this will also be reflected in extensive new game content for the existing Hogwarts Legacy.
Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming, one of the best connected and most reliable insiders in the gaming industry, now reports in a new exclusive report that a definitive edition of Hogwarts Legacy is currently in the works. This optimized new edition of the original game will also have a lot of completely new content.
Henderson speaks of additional content that should keep you busy for around 10 to 15 hours; So it’s already a substantial expansion, because there are also a number of single-player titles as full versions that don’t even reach this mark. This season will be achieved through a new story quest as well as new side quests, activities and more.
It is currently unclear when exactly this definitive edition will appear and what the pricing will be. Some sources at Henderson suggested that it would probably happen sometime next year, 2025. The new content will then not only be available as part of the Definitive Edition, but also as a separate DLC for all those players who have already purchased Hogwarts Legacy. They may have to shell out between $20 and $30 for the expanded content.
Published in early 2023, Hogwarts Legacy had sold more than 24 million copies worldwide by January 2024. For example, Hogwarts Legacy is still one of the ten best-selling games in the United States in 2024.
