We’ve all been waiting a long time for news about Hollow Knight: Silksong. Almost every Nintendo Direct in recent months has featured a plethora of recurring, “Where’s Silksong?” to no avail.Last night (Tuesday night), the publisher announced Hollow Knight: Silksong has been delayed.
While news of Silksong’s delay was far from what we’d hoped for, most eager fans just seemed relieved to have confirmation that the game still exists. Silksong was first announced in 2019 and subsequently appeared at the Xbox Showcase in June 2022 as one of many games scheduled for release in late 2022-early 2023.
Matthew Griffin of Team Cherry takes over Twitter Share updates with your fans. “We originally planned to release in the first half of 2023, but development continues. We’re excited about the game’s development, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as possible.”
Griffin concluded by sharing what fans can share, “Expect more details from us once we get closer to launch.”

All in all, it’s positive to hear that Hollow Knight: Silksong is still in development, rather than leaving any fans hesitant about the state of the game. Even better, Silksong has grown into a game that’s bigger than the DLC that came out in 2019, and fans are genuinely excited.
Matthew Griffin didn’t reveal any further details about the new release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong. All we know is that the game won’t be in our hands in early 2023; that’s still coming in late 2023, or we might see Silksong in 2024. It’s coming to PlayStation consoles too!
At this point, we do have The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom just around the corner, at least keeping us all very busy in the meantime!
