"Homemade: The Life of Ms. C.J. Walker" is a TV series based on A'Lelia Bundles' "On Her Own Ground". Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer starred in the series, portraying legends in American history. The mini series starts at March 20 On Netflix.
The plot is about C.J. Walker, an outstanding African-American hair care entrepreneur and one of the earliest multi-millionaires in the United States. Poor dishwashers, who initially had to stand up against racism, gender struggles and personal betrayal, set up a successful hair care company despite fierce competition. The fight for social justice also plays a very important role in the series. In addition to Spencer, the series also features comedians Tiffany Haddish and Carmen Ejogo.
