Honkai: Star Rail has passed the 10 million pre-registered players milestone. That’s more than a week ahead of launch, and a milestone for Genshin Impact ahead of its explosive 2020 launch.
What’s particularly interesting is not only how quickly the Hoyoverse’s next gacha RPG managed to do this, but also how the game managed to do so without a PlayStation pre-registration. With that in mind, it looks as though Honkai Star Trail will have an astronomical Day 1 player base who will surely appreciate the massive pre-registration bonuses.
The game will offer all the familiar goodies fans of Genshin Impact will love: an anime art style, a plethora of characters to use in battle, chat through an engaging single-player story, and more. And of course the gacha system, which is the most common way to get new characters, requires a lot of free game time or real world cash, so keep that in mind if you’re going to try it out.
10,000,000 pre-registrations reached!

This is also the third in the Honkai series, which was very popular among Chinese gamers in the early days of the Hoyoverse. For Star Rail, we’ve seen the series receive a similar level of investment as Genshin. The game is the obvious next step for a relatively new industry giant to gain more attention, money and loyalty around the world.
To be fair, this helps the Hoyoverse game solidly. While some initially pointed out that Genshin was clearly an attempt to jump on the Breath of the Wild hype train at launch, it has morphed into an entirely different beast, with massive fan bases in both East and West markets. With past success, Honkai: Interstellar Railroad might just be their own industry-shaking locomotive heading into a busy summer of AAA games and game-of-the-year contenders.
