Original message from February 18, 2020:
For months we have been wondering what Baldur's Gate 3 will look like. It seems we have puzzled enough. At least soon. Because the developers at Larian have via Twitter
When is there something to see?
The gameplay reveal takes place on February 27, 2020 at 9:00 p.m. instead of.
Then why of all places?
At the end of February, the video game convention PAX East takes place in Boston. Larians Creative Director Swen Vincke will also be there live and present real game scenes from Baldur's Gate 3 to the public for the first time on a show stage. There should also be a special guest, whose identity remains secret.
At the same time, there is already a new video in which you can get some insights into the development of Baldur's Gate 3. Not much can be seen here, except that very complex motion and face recordings were made:
What is shown
According to the official press release, it won't be a simple gameplay trailer or an in-engine teaser. Instead, Vincke and his guest will play live on the current build of Baldur's Gate 3 on the Pax stage.
So we will very likely not only get answers to what visual style Larian is pursuing for the sequel to the legendary RPG series, but also get a few burning questions answered. It is still unclear, for example, whether the developers will be more game-oriented to the classics or whether game content from Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be incorporated.
Baldur's Gate 3 could offer either real-time battles with a break or turn-based battles like in Divinity. Our editor Peter is at least sure that he would prefer the former:

Gameplay, release, story: What information do we expect?
Since the announcement, many questions about Baldur's Gate 3 are still open. Hopefully some of them will be answered with the reveal on the PAX. After all, Larian promises an open question and answer session afterwards. What could we learn from this?
- gameplay: We will almost certainly be able to see exactly how it is going. This applies both to the battles (turn-based or real-time), but also to the exploration. It is not even clear whether Baldur's Gate 3 remains isometric. We are also likely to learn more about co-op mode. Vincke will eventually play the game with a guest.
- Story background: We already know that the story of Baldur's Gate 3 does not tie in directly with its predecessors, but that it began over 100 years later. The brain disabilities also play a role. More details are to be revealed at the PAX. Maybe we will get a first impression of our companions.
- Presentation: It will also be exciting to see what the graphics look like. After all, almost 20 years have passed since the predecessors and Larian will have to find a way to combine nostalgia with a modern look. Based on the digitized faces, one can already assume that there will probably be more close-ups of characters than before.
- Release date: Baldur's Gate 3 does not yet have a specific release framework. In our Plus Preview, Vincke revealed that it will probably be a long time before the game appears. This can mean that it will still be too early on the PAX. However, it may be revealed whether there is an early access phase. This option was already considered by Larian when it was announced.
We will of course stay tuned to the topic for you, and you can be sure that we will report extensively on the gameplay reveal of Baldur's Gate 3. So you should definitely stop by on February 27th at 9:30 p.m.
