Kyle Katarn brought us the Dark Troopers! Not directly, of course, the stormtrooper robots were conceived by the imperial general and legendary Helmut Kohl doppelganger Rom Mohc, which LucasArts created for the classic shooter at the time Dark Forces conjured from the villain’s hat. So this sympathy bolt:

Kyle Katarn then defeated Mohc and his Dark Tropper – and that was it, we thought. But then we were amazed like a bantha at the dentist when Disney recently heaved the dark troops onto the series stage in the second season of “The Mandalorian” and thus officially anchored them in the Star Wars cannons. Has anyone played Dark Forces?
Previously, Tie Fighter’s Tie Defender had been roared through Star Wars: Rebels, and Book of Boba Fett had a cameo appearance from a BD droid – like BD-1 from Jedi: Fallen Order!
Games have the potential to enrich the Star Wars universe even more in the future – and thus fight the Star Wars weariness that is starting to become noticeable after the films and series of recent years.
Micha talks about this in the live podcast with Dimi “Kyle Katarn” Halley and with Marco Risch, whom you from the film and series podcast Nerd & Culture and of course from his Youtube channel Nerd culture knows.
Plus, of course, we’ll dig into the new Kenobi trailer, discuss our love for Star Wars (and its low points), and share our hopes for The High Republic, with Disney replacing the Old Republic from Knights of the Old Republic & Co would like to.
All of this could well work out – if Disney doesn’t give in to the temptations of the dark side.
