It’s time to unify all your Overwatch accounts into one. Blizzard has designed Overwatch 2 to be a cross-platform, cross-play shooter, and that means if you have to own two copies of the game on different systems, you will be able to merge everything gained and progressed in each on a single account, including your stats and skins.
In fact, necessary have a Battle.net account to play Overwatch 2 and, regardless of the game platform, from August 16 linked console accounts will receive a prompt at login to identify, select and confirm the accounts you want to merge.
Once we have established which accounts we wish to merge, Blizzard will begin the process for Overwatch 2.
How to merge Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC accounts
The gist: The platforms that are part of the merger are Xbox (Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S via backwards compatibility), PlayStation (PS4 and PS5 via backwards compatibility), Nintendo Switch, and PC. Also, only one account can be linked per platform. For example, if you have two Battle.net accounts on your PC, you will not be able to merge those accounts.
Here are the steps you need to follow to merge your console account to a Battle.net account:
- Sign in to Overwatch from your console account.
- If you don’t have a Battle.net account yet:
- Visit Battle.net, create a free Battle.net account. go to your account settings and from the connections section in your account settings link your console
- Follow the prompts on the screen to scan the QR code on your mobile phone.
- Once accessed the web, you enter the code that appears on your console to connect or simply create a Battle.net account.
- When you complete the process, you will be asked to confirm your account by logging in so you can merge the accounts.
From here, a nuance: You will only get one chance to merge the right accounts to your Battle.net account. In other words, if you have multiple accounts in use, once you merge a console account with your Battle.net account, you will not be able to link it to a different console account on the same platform.
One extra tip: It’s worth looking at the steps and making sure you’re not linking someone else’s account or one you’re barely progressing on to your Battle.net account.
On the other hand, you can also configure everything directly from the PC from Battle.net Connections. And if you have any problems, the Blizzard website has a section support for common problems linking accounts.
Merging the Overwatch ones into one is not optional, but they are all advantages
As we discussed at the beginning, the nature of Overwatch 2 is to offer a free-to-play, cross-platform, cross-play title. It is not something new. And just like Fortnite with an Epic Games account or MultiVersus with a Warner account, all console and PC platforms will require a Battle.net account to play Fortnite. Overwatch 2.
Above all, because when October 4 arrives Overwatch 2, it will go to sustituir el Overwatch original.
From here, a note: Overwatch 2 is not a blank canvas, since all the content, heroes and items obtained in the game based on playing or with the loot boxes will be waiting for us as soon as we start the game. And the same applies to our stats and settings. So merging is also the only way to access and move the progress of Overwatch a Overwatch 2.
So, in case you have Overwatch on Nintendo Switch and PC, for example, we will find that:
- Sprays, emotes, skins, and anything else that appears in the Hero Gallery tab of the game earned on console will appear on PC.
- Similarly, credits Overwatch will be added after merging accounts.
- On the other hand, the skill index and the competitive index will be divided by platform (console and PC) and in the case of playing on console, the highest rank will appear.
All aspects quite demanded by the community, everything is said.
And what happens if we do not want to start the process? Your own Blizzard
If you do not confirm the account merger in-game, you will constantly be presented with a screen in-game identifying your accounts and asking for your approval to proceed with the merger.
When will the account merge take place?
Yes ok, it is already possible to start our fusion of accounts on all platforms where it is available Overwatchthe unification of content and progress of Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC will be effective in October with the launch of Overwatch 2.
For its part, Overwatch 2 is scheduled to be available on all of the above platforms. from October 4being the beginning of a new stage in which it is committed to a free model, multiplatform, without loot boxes and with direct access to purchases and unlocks through a Season Pass system.
The first season will begin on October 4 on all platforms and with it will come three new heroes, six new maps and more than three dozen skins, in addition to the battle pass itself. Furthermore, with the arrival of Overwatch 2 and its season system, it is expected that the arrival of content in the game will be periodic and more regular, starting with Season 2 December 6th.

A sequel that will seek for all fans to play together adding everything they have won and learned from the first installment. This includes preserving what has been gained and learned in each system.
