The world is about to get another Howling Tides update, and luckily, we don’t have to wait too long. Howling Tides 1.2 will launch worldwide on August 15th, bringing with it new characters, new events, and even a dancing turtle.
The announcement came in the form of a gorgeous new gameplay trailer that wraps up all the new content in a beautiful visual package. The stars of this update are obviously the two new playable characters. They are Zhe Zhi and Xiangli Yao, both of whom are available in the game as of this update.

As you’d expect, these characters all come with weapons, including the Rime-Dripped Sprouts and Verity’s Handle. Since both are five-star weapons, you’ll need to be very lucky to get these in addition to the new five-star characters. Either that, or get ready to empty your wallet.
The update also includes some new story content, as well as a limited-time event called Moonlight Boon, where you can help build an ongoing festival. There’s also a seven-day login event, and some combat activities that you can complete for extra rewards.
All in all, this is an exciting new update for Gacha, and it’s been working very well since its release earlier this year. Whether the game can maintain its momentum, especially after initially encountering some tricky technical challenges, will be something we’ll be watching closely.
