Phones that have tried Huawei Mobile Services
Huawei hopes to make its forgotten Google Play on new smartphones through its application library. The quotes in the App Gallery were pretty good in the tests, and even included WhatsApp and Facebook in the beginning. To this end, it hooks elsewhere.
Huawei must have no Google Mobile Service [GMS] for the first time in 2020. The reason is the U.S. trade embargo on the Chinese mobile phone company and Google banned cooperation with Huawei. This forces Huawei to offer users alternatives. This is called "Huawei Mobile Services" [HMS] and is currently used in Germany for Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Honor 9X Pro. The upcoming Huawei P40 and Huawei Mate Xs will also use HMS instead of GMS.
WhatsApp and Co.: You can find these apps in the App Gallery
The core of HMS is the Huawei Application Library. The App Store will replace Google Play on manufacturers' phones and tablets. However, so far you have only got the app here, no movies, music or TV shows. The service is not new. The App Store has been used on this Chinese manufacturer's phone since 2018, but there is a niche market in the shadow of Google Play. Is the application library ready to step out of the shadow of the "Big American Brother"?
At first glance, this offer looks pretty good. Many of the most downloaded apps can be found in the app gallery, including the social network TikTok. For others, Huawei has found a good solution. If you look for WhatsApp in the Huawei App Gallery, you will find an entry called "WhatsApp Download Link". This will take you to the official WhatsApp website where you can download and install Messenger as an APK file.
