In contrast to Cyberpunk 2077 sales, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sales are doing very well. But should we be worried about the postponement of the free update?
CD Projekt Red counts and the results don’t look so good from game to game. While Cyberpunk 2077 pays a heavy price for its many problems, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is still a huge hit with gamers.
The Witcher accounts for more than half of the series’ sales
The Witcher Geralt of Rivia is more popular than ever, even 7 years after its release. From April 14, 2022, Over 40 million The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt games have been sold worldwide, all platforms together. A clearly unbelievable number since to date Total franchise sales peak at over 65 million. We can see that TW3 is a pivotal episode.
A much more engaging performance than that of Cyberpunk 2077 and its disappointingly large numbers. Can The Witcher 3 still gain momentum and increase sales? Certainly when the next-gen update will be available.
The PS5 and Xbox series version has been delayed, a problem?
The free PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S update will therefore be (still) delayed compared to the original schedule. A bad omen? No, and CD Projekt Red denied this after reading some articles online.
There is one point I wanted to make regarding the launch of TW3 on the new generation of consoles. I was looking at the headlines around the web and one yelled at me “The Witcher 3 next-gen has been delayed indefinitely”. It makes development seem like a nightmare. I just want to point out that this is not a fact.
. There have been many hints that the update will arrive in June next year. That’s absolutely not true. The patch will be completed internally. No one says the shift is monumental.
The term “unlimited” doesn’t come from CD Projekt Red, though “for the time being”, Yes. The art of wordplay? It remains to wait Netflix series which formalized its Season 3 with a synopsis.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
