Last year Casey Hudson founded his own development studio with Humanoid Studios. A few months later, the first details of the ex-director of Mass Effect’s new project are coming to light.
Anyone who has stuck with the sci-fi epic Mass Effect and is longingly waiting for comparable supplies should not only concentrate on BioWare itself, which is known to be working on a comeback of the sci-fi franchise. A former BioWare boss and ex-director of Mass Effect has since become self-employed and apparently has a competitor in the works.
Of course, this means Casey Hudson, who finally left BioWare in 2021 and founded his own development studio called Humanoid Studios. It was initially quiet around that studio for a while, but now the company’s website has been updated in a neat way – and gives information about the debut work.
Humanoid Studios is currently working on a “multiplatform AAA title that focuses on a character-driven narrative in a brand new sci-fi universe.” With his new team, Hudson is taking his experiences with Mass Effect directly and preparing to compete with BioWare.
Even some first concept pictures can be found on the website – you can also see one of them at the beginning of this message. The pictures show planets and space explorers, otherwise no great details are known about the plot or gameplay to date.
